What can a student expect from Residence Orientation?

Residence Orientation opens with residents having a House Meeting with fellow students that will be living in their House and their Don.  During this House Meeting residents will be introduced to the University and equally importantly to each other and the people that they will be living with during the school year.

Following the House Meetings, residents will then go to Tait MacKenzie with all of the residents from their building to have fun, learn more about residence and meet more people.  This portion of Residence Orientation really brings out the pride that a resident will have for their residence and for York.

Finally we close with a BBQ filled with music outside of Tait MacKenzie.

What are the benefits of attending Residence Orientation?

Residence Orientation is the very first opportunity that a resident will have to meet the people in their community that will be playing a key role in their university experience.  Attending Residence Orientation allows walls of nervousness to be broken down and friendships to be made.  It is the opportunity to see who will be playing a key role in your residence experience and learning about what it means to be a resident, a student and a York Lion.
